Avik Banerjee has a strong technical background and has contributed to a variety of Newry’s opportunity identification and assessment efforts for advanced materials and specialty chemicals. His work has encompassed a wide range of industries, including automotive, medical devices, and energy storage, and a breadth of material types, including specialty glass, specialty ceramics, and polymer films. In a recent engagement, Avik helped to identify new product opportunities for a client’s polymer film, one of which the client is currently developing IP around. He has also assessed potential acquisition targets for a Fortune 500 company, helped facilitate innovation workshops on topics ranging from machine learning to pharmaceutical packaging, and contributed to developing a lucrative 5-year portfolio for an optical physics research group.
Avik received a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, where he worked in cancer research for the Department of Biomedical Engineering and researched medical applications for the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering. He also worked for Philips Healthcare in quality control, testing systems and imaging technology to ensure compliance with FDA standards.
