We are seeking a Senior Consultant to be one of the core leaders of the firm and to manage project teams and client relationships. Senior Consultants act as Engagement Managers (EM) on a wide range of projects and report to the firm’s CEO or Vice Presidents, depending on the project. In the role of EM, Senior Consultants manage multiple engagement teams, coordinate all client communications, and are responsible for delivering high quality work against a discrete set of agreed-to objectives. The EM is accountable for the quality of the outcome and “answer” of the engagement by driving all research and analysis activities, written communications, and client interactions. By combining strong problem-solving skills, analytical expertise, and motivation of others, Newry EMs are pivotal to providing strategic insight to our clients. Experience 3 - 5 yrs. experience with a well-regarded consulting firm preferably in the areas of segment or product-level strategy (vs. broader corporate strategy), emerging market strategy or product innovation, including at least one year in a manager/engagement management role. - Significant project management experience with an internal consulting group within a large, global company will also be considered
- Strong knowledge of the consulting process (e.g., has worked on 15+ major projects)
- Ability to manage small engagement teams (2-3 consulting staff)
- Direct experience in conducting field research and synthesizing information based on creative use of primary and secondary sources, including obtaining voice of the customer, conducting interviews with subject matter experts, performing site visits and related competitive intelligence activities Experience in working with and/or managing client expectations
- To bring additional subject matter expertise, experience in at least one of the following industry sectors: energy, technology/high-technology, or manufacturing of industrial or complex technical products
- Ability to develop and apply relevant conceptual frameworks and analytical approaches
Engagement Management and Leadership Skills Demonstrates an ability to: - Think strategically and creatively, including identifying critical business issues and providing strong problem structuring and work planning leadership
- Work with and manage a small team of consulting staff, including having a strong desire and ability to coach and develop others
- Provide substantive thought leadership to overall project approach by stretching the team to develop new insights – challenges hypotheses and leads the synthesis of information and key messages, including identifying gaps, overlaps, and inconsistencies
- Has a strong sense of accountability for results and is focused on delivering value to clients
- Able to understand and “drill deep” on highly technical information (e.g., interest in or able to understand science and/or technology-oriented analyses)
- Possesses strong initiative and positive attitude, including an ability to work on multiple, deadline-oriented projects that require keen attention to detail and a sense of urgency
- Has strong facilitation skills to guide meetings with either client executives or Newry team members
- Has superior interpersonal, communication and general networking skills
Education and Other Desired Attributes - Excellent academic credentials, including masters-level graduate degree is preferred for this position (e.g., MBA from a strong program, Masters in Economics, etc.). A BA/BS degree from a competitive undergraduate program, most likely in economics, statistics, mathematics, business, physical sciences, engineering or related fields is required

- Has permanent U.S. work authorization and ability to travel globally, as needed
